All Classes and Workshops are ONLINE via Zoom, unless held outdoors, where indicated.
Classes
 with Samantha are fun, relaxed and inspiring. Students learn quickly with lots of opportunity to share their work and receive personal feedback.
Samantha sets varied and innovative exercises, provides insightful critique, thoughtful prompts, editorial advice and most importantly encouragement. 
She offers clear, in-depth explanations with lots of examples from published fiction.

Writing Memoir
Mondays

A 12 week course for all who are interested in putting their own story or that of a loved one down on paper.
The course will include tuition, targeted exercises and the option to submit your work for critique and also includes one 30min 1 - to - 1 with the tutor.
Samantha takes an integrative approach, and the course will cover all the main concerns of organisation, story arc, narration, and tone. Alongside this, focus on the writer's craft will help you hone your writing skills to engage the reader, inspire and resonate. 
We will examine the art of story-telling through the work of established autobiographers and you will receive encouragement to stay motivated, build your word count and share feedback.

​Writing Children's
Fiction

A course for anyone interested in writing for children.
Taking inspiration from established children’s authors, we will look at the particulars of engaging young readers.
Inventive exercises will stimulate your playful writing side as well as tackle how to approach serious subjects with young age groups. There will be plenty of examples and advice to help you take your writing the extra mile.
We will focus on portraying children as characters, consider plot, setting, narrative, dialogue and language. We will look at fantasy, play and learning.

There will be lots of opportunity to share your work and receive feedback.

Bring your imagination, curiosity and interest in writing, and join other like-minded people. Find new stories or develop a project already in process.

Writing: Play and Imagination

A course to explore and expand the realms of your imagination, discover characters and dive into stories as they unfold. We will play with language, pictures and objects to find and develop stories through the written word for young and older alike. A great course for new writers, those looking for fresh inspiration and people wishing to bring more creativity into their lives.

Writing Workout

Write it all out at the end of the day! Let loose, get wordy, and relax. A well-being exercise, sit-ups for a wordsmith or taking your imagination for a walk, make it what you want. Quick-fire writing exercises, tips, fun and imaginative prompts to kick-start new ideas or release your imagination. Grab a little bit of ‘me’ time for you and your creativity. There will also be exercises to help tone your craft in the company of other writers. 
Happy Writing
A 6 week course focussing on writing from celebration, joy, positivity and aliveness, despite challenging times.

Wilding Your Writing

Free your voice. Explore words, savour them like cherries in your mouth and chillies down your throat. Go where you haven't gone before. Say YES. Connect with movement, sound and image...and write. For the bold and anyone who wants to go bold.

Writing from Objects

Exploring the role objects can play in enhancing our storytelling. We will look at established authors' work and engage with a variety of exercises which seek to reveal the humble talent of objects to deliver big impact and capture our readers' attention.

Poetry

​Explore and experiment with words, form and subject. Develop imagery and tone through an inventive approach to help you flex, enliven and deepen your poetic voice. A supportive environment in which to share your work.

Kids Writing School

A fun course to learn how to kick-start a story, develop character, create a world your readers will love and get gritty with action. There will be opportunity to share your work.

Teen Writing School

A fun and stimulating course to stretch your use of language and explore the ingredients of story-telling from character, time, place and action to perspective, imagery and dialogue. There will be opportunity to share your work.

Writing through the Rainbow

With each colour in turn the starting point for our writing each week, we will travel through the rainbow and collect the pot of Gold at the end! We will explore imagery, figurative language, the senses, emotions, personalities and the power of words to convey a palette of life experience. There will be opportunity to share our work.

Time to Write

An opportunity to come together and set time aside to write, it can be hard to get down to it alone! Each week, there will be prompts, a focus on an aspect of writing technique, and examples from established authors alongside held writing time in a supportive atmosphere. For those with a project on the go and those looking for fresh inspiration.
